I phoned on 26th, late afternoon, was asked for code and if I wanted free Filmfour newsletter by email, then passed on to Sky.Lady at Sky told me that there are 2 codes-she had a problem trying to get it to register but it went through in the end.

So,I don't know if they have different codes for some areas but I'm in South Wales, had no flyer in my December sky magazine(not that I look at it normally anyway) but quoted code given in first posting and it worked, thank goodness.

I was offered a free 'no obligation' trial of film 4 about a year ago.They phoned me and offered it so it was an unsolicited call.
I never watched the channel as the films are invariably old anyway.
Months later I noticed it was still on so I checked my account and,lo and behold,they were charging me for it.

So I called them and went daft.
They said I should have called them at the end of the 30 days to cancel it.
Funnily enough,they didn't tell me about this when they offered me it.
Dubious sales techniques,or a 'mistake'...
You decide.

By all means accept the offer,but mark the 30 days in your diary and cancel it.

I have just signed up - no problems! I saw the original posting but wanted to wait until into December so I could take advantage of any good films over Christmas and into the New Year.

The code in the original posting is still being accepted. I've noted on the calendar to cancel in 30 days. Pity there isn't anything good on Film Four tonight!

Definately cancelling in January though - had Film Four a couple of years ago... It used to be quite good, especially when they had Film Four Extreme and World instead of Weekly, but it seemed to start repeating the same films over and over. Looking at the schedule over the next month, it doesn't seem to have changed since then ::)

oh thanks a million, just rang up and got straight through, have got film four free for a month, they asked where i heard and said it was in my sky magazine. have made a note on my outlook express to cancel in one months time. I LOVE THIS SITE. ps i already saved 3 x £6 from sky a while ago when i pretended i was goin to cancel due to money pressures and saved £10 x 12 on my ntl package (broadband and phone ) when i did the same thing. so big thanks to everyone on this site and to Martin.............Happy Christmas!
