how to make xmas nativity costumes?. plz help

When my little boy was a star I dressed him in dark clothes and stuck lots of stars on him (which I'd made with kitchen foil).

Sorry I can't help with the Charles Dickens costume - oh yes I can - if he has old school trousers cut bottoms off all raggedy, then he needs an old shirt with sleeves cut off all raggedy or cuffs turned up, one of his dad's would do the trick ... and an old woollen scarf knotted round his neck and tucked inside shirt (cravat style) and bare feet and a flat cap if you can find one.

Glad you liked the ideas! One tip: do NOT repeat my trick of making a snowflake costume by threading polystyrene beads from packaging onto cotton and sewing them to an old white T-shirt. They swirled beautifully until the child sitting next to mine started shredding them off ... :rotfl:

Can't say I'm sorry those days have passed! But I've got to be a shepherd in the work nativity play (best not to ask!) and I gave all my 'costumes', including the stripey tea towel, to church when mine outgrew them!
