Hi All,
I just wanted some advice if it poss.
Basically, just moved into a new flat, found a BT connection box but BT told me that the line used to belong to TalkTalk.
I contacted TalkTalk and they told me to contact the Post Office to re-enable the line.
I contacted the Post Office who told me that because TalkTalk "Kop" the line, they effectively take the line out of the BT Local Loop. They told me it is £110 to reactivate the line!!!
I have checked with BT and they told me it will cost me £129.99 to reconnect with BT plus I have to stay in a 12 month contract with them.
I dont believe there is any way round this other than me paying £110 to the post office - the benefit being that I'm not tied into a lengthy 12 month contract.
What I wanted to ask was if I get the Post Office to reconnect the line - can I then ask O2 to connect up my broadband or does the line have to be with BT only.
I'm assuming it shouldnt matter cos the Post Office said they put the line back into the BT loop but I wanted to ask if anyone knew if this was correct.
Thanks,
Lsjhoa.

Talk Talk told you to go to the Post Office because their is no contract so you can cancel without a fee and move to them. Expect the Post Office to block this loophole soon
Hurry and you can get a BT line connected for £29.99.

I looked at that option, but that means having to stay with BT for 18 months0

Who do you want to be with--most new contracts will be 18 months? Why not choose your preferred provider first then see who--talk-talk/PO/BT is the best phone line provider for you.0
