I've just driven past my local Charity shop, the doorway is piled high with bags, it will be quality stuff I expect. I also expect it to have been taken when I drive past again tomorrow morning at 6am.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

I have never understood why people ignore the signs asking that bags are NOT left when the shop is not open.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Read them carefully, many show a charity logo but then go on to say that the items are actually sold and a 'proportion' of th eprofits given to the stated charity.
If they don't show a full charity registration number then best assume it is a private company and avoid them.
Even if they are showing a charity number, it is sadly not a true indication that it is a genuine collection.
It is very easy to get hold of the number of a charity - and then print it onto collection bags....
It's very sad that some people will go to such lengths to steal from charity, but it does happen. Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
I got one for a childrens charity a couple of years ago which I was suspicious about, I checked the charity's web site and it was genuine as they mentioned the company was authorised to collect on their behalf, so it may be worth checking a charity's site if you have doubts.Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw

we fill a bag about once a year, usually when the pile at home has been sitting for ages and noone (me) has taken it down to the shop. It is better than binning it. I would rather take stuff straight to the shop and know it all went to the charity though. £3 a bag! That is a jumper or a couple of shirts and the bags can hold masses more than that. Our last donated bag had toys in ,not just clothes and it would have been about £30 or £40 worth to a charity shop.0
