I bought tom tom one form halfords online in june of this year. It has since gone faulty ( voice but no picture) and the customer service dept have advised that we need to take to a store who will send it off to get repaired. It is needed for our business so cannot afford to be without it. Should they replace or refund given the timescales. Please help.

Depends on what warranty the shop provides. I doubt it's longer than 3 months. Outside of this you fall into manufacturers warranty and Halfords have every right to send it for repair.0 -
You're entitled to a repair from Halfords.
How did the business cope before Sat Nav was invented? Could they not just go back to the traditional method of a map?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
If it is a critical piece of equipment for your company to function then you should have a back up device, else you’ve left the company open to a single point of failure – which has now occurred, buy a back up and keep your business functioning.0

Its probably quicker going direct to TomTom than taking it to Halfords as they will just be sending it to them.0

To me that is the comon sense thing to do.
There will be comments this evening telling the op to take it to the store because "thats what the SOGA says". But it will be a case of just doing that for the sake of the SOGA, I'd use the quicker route myself.0 -
Yes cant agree more, ive had a faulty Toshiba photo frame from Play, rather than sending it back to Jersey and them sending it back to the UK to Toshiba, then them sending it to Jersey and then back to me, i just rang up Toshiba and they sent and collected the next day, it would have took probably a couple of weeks the other way0

Contact Tom tom ...And track down the Halfords receipt .It is a 12 month guarantee.
I returned mine (hard drive failure ).
they will give you a reference number by e-maill ,then send out a post paid box .You just post off the Tom Tom and they fix it or swap it out ...Great service to be honest ,about 3-4 days is all it took .
The receipt from Halfords is the key thing .0
