Other uses for cut flower food

On the odd occasion I am bought cut flowers, I never use the cut flower food that comes with them as they make the water murky and I have clear vases. I have a stash of about 6 packets of the stuff, some crystals, some liquid feed.
Are there any other uses for these? Could I put them in my flower beds? Are they the best cleaning agent for copper pans or something else quirky?
