childs benefit and child tax credit

My daughter was 17 in may she went into her second year of college recently and decided last week to finish as she hates the college. She has been working since she was 14.

I was ringing up the benefits office to tell them that she has finished college, someone has told me that if she goes into the connexions office and signs up with them she can still claim child benefit. My daugher is already signed up to connexions as they do this when they are at school. does she need to go in and tell them that she has finished college and am i still entitled to these benefits.

She is going back to college next year doing a different course and changing college's

Many thanks

    Who is eligible?

You may be able to get Child Benefit if your child is:
    • aged under 16
    • aged between 16 and 19 (up to 20 in some cases) and is in relevant education or training
    • 16 or 17 years old and has recently left relevant education or training - however, they must have registered for work or training with the Careers or Connexions Service, Ministry of Defence, Department for Employment and Learning (in Northern Ireland) or an Education and Library Board (in Northern Ireland)
