Love your steps kmmr, where are they from? I'm having to replace similar steps but have never seen anything that matched on my travels and was going to end up building steps from block pavers but that would look far better!
I long to paint our project white - the flat looks great - really clean and crisp, as does stolt's house! H has already started with magnolia and I can't stand it anymore as it feels bog standard. Have you used brilliant white or a different shade?
Unhelpfully I don't know where they came from! My builder lives up in Darlington, and he got them from a quarry up there. They are lovely solid stone, although I think they are normally quite expensive.
Apparently I got a deal as they were prepared for an uncollected order. But I will ask for you.0 -

The house is actually a very pale grey. The ceilings are plain brilliant white, but the walls are called Sail White I think. From Homebase, so nothing too exciting!0 -
Oh, blimey, multiple replies!
kmmr, does he have three steps spare?! Thinking about it I think I only actually need one top piece as I could reuse what is there but just build it out from where it was - so you've helped me think about it properly, thanks! The top step has cracked back and revealed the layers of stone iyswim - not really good enough anymore but maybe I can find one - we used a company before that copied some coping stones for us and the price wasn't heart breaking.
Feel like an imposter on the thread a bit as it's certainly not my first time but you all have so many ideas to offer! I went and took some pictures of our project yesterday as I've not kept up with this one really but it's nearly finished now so I've taken some pics before all the pretty stuff goes in.
The problem I have with paint is that we have to try and cover a 2400 square foot house with paint and H will not stretch the budget past trade emulsion - nothing else seems to come in big enough tubs to provide any economy of scaleI'm allowed a more sophisticated colour in the big open plan room but I still think it will look odd against magnolia.
stolt, the company I use are probably not up to your exceptional standards! I use a company that produce PVC folding sliders. Numerous colours now, very cheap if you can find your own fitter but not alu ones. www.foldandslide.co.uk Nice people to deal with though.
Anyone know any good garage door people? I think the one we use may have gone bump!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Where are you Doozergirl? And I am sure the regulars here welcome your help!
I am technically a second time renovator, but the last time was such a small job it doesn't count. Or at least it feels like that now. I am sure at the time it felt like a huge job too!0 -
I live in Worcestershire. I moved out here from London (born and bred); before I came here I'd have sworn no-one lived in that County! But some people doEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I didn't get to go to the house today as have been feeling totally flattened and worn out. OH visited the kitchen folks this afternoon, and drove back past the house on the way home. And what he saw encouraged him to go back and take photos! :j

@maggie - where did the inner leaf come from? Must have used magic to get it up so quick
@andy - looking really good.
Nothing happening here at all. Baby LC didn't sleep at all well last night so we both knackered today and I'm coming down with something. We were subjected to BIL's family at the weekend and they were full of colds so probably coming from there. I'm banishing myself away from baby LC as I dont want him to get it. Sleeping upstairs in the spare room - but means I'm on the main pc for the first time in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately the camera is downstairs so no new photos. I'll check that the ones on PC are on the blog though.....0 -
Update to teh blog - now up to date for the end of first builders. All better from now on0
