Child Trust Fund (CTF)

Hi,

I am considering investing a CTF voucher in a Cash fund while the stock market is so turbulent. Is this wise and can I later transfer the money, cost-free, to an investment CTF?

A price comparison website shows that the Hanley Economic BS currently offers the best rate of 7.75% AER on a Cash CTF. Is choosing a Cash CTF simply about selecting the product with the highest AER or are there other considerations?

Thanks!

My little girl's voucher is in a cash fund at the moment. However, to be brutally honest I'm looking for the low point of the market so I can switch to an investment version and get the biggest gain I can for her. Or that's my theory anyway.
