Hope this helpsGot Married 16/09/11 :j0 -
thanks for all replys
I want to list in buy it now which is what i have done
when you click on listing fees it tells you its 15p and free for gallery so my total should be 15p.
if the prices have changed them ebay has not changed its listing fees page to show this.
I have listed other items tonight the same price range and they were only 15p hence the reason i noticed it.
40p seems a bit steep for an item at £1.950 -
I have just found this
Fee changes
From 25th September, we're revising fees for Auction and Buy It Now listings, Shops subscriptions and listing upgrades.
Free Gallery
We're happy to confirm that we are removing the 15p fee for the Gallery listing upgrade. This makes permanent the promotion that was due to end on 30th September 2008.
Success-based fees
Overall, we are continuing our commitment to moving the cost of selling an item on eBay.co.uk away from the front-end insertion fee and increasing the final value fees, so that the majority of fees are paid only when you successfully sell an item.
Fees to fit your business
We are also providing more tailored pricing options to fit the different sizes and business models of Shop owners and Buy It Now format sellers. This will help provide a more vibrant market place with even greater choice for buyers and greater opportunities for all sellers.

Someone has to sponsor the thousands of free listings big corperations are getting.
"greater opportunities for all sellers"
Apparantly by charging you more than double what you were paying they're provining you greater opportunities?
Greater opportunities to sell things else where?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Its not just listing fees , but also final value fees that have taken a huge hike to nearly 10%. It makes it virtually pointless to sell anything under a couple of quid after you deduct ebay and paypal fees together.
Unfortunately, the reality is that there is no effective online alternative.
EG, you sell an old secondhand cable (or anything for that matter) for £1. You spend about 45 minutes running round for the camera, taking and uploading picture, & trying to write a decent advert. You risk chargebacks, claims that it has not arrived, have to answer emails, risk fouling up your feedback, have to find packaging, address parcel and then visit and queue in post office.
Then you pay 40p to list it, about 9p final value fee and about 24p paypal (paypal charge a flat 20p +a percentage). You get a total profit? of 27p! :mad:I have gained from advice as well as bargains here, so if I can help in any way, I am only too pleased to do so and appreciate your thanks.0
