Roofing problem

Just recently I got a roofing company to repair my parapet wall as all the pointing had gone. I also assumed that the fault in the parapet wall was also allowing water into my loft space. Once the work was done I checked to see if water was coming in - fortunately it was raining at the time.
Water was indeed coming in. I rang the company concerned. they sent a foreman out. He said that I'd need my lead soakers replaced, which is another 400+vat per parapet wall.
As the parapet wall is adjacent to the lead soakers I'd expect the roofing guys to either
1) spot this during the parapet wall work
2)They company suggest due to the age of the property that the soakers need looking at whilst the parapet wall job is done.
They did neither. Brickys were employed by the roofing co. to do the job so they didnt spot any problem.and the company didnt suggest that due to the age the soakers would require possible work.
So, now i'm looking at another £800 on top of the £1000 I paid already(had chimney pointed too). I think the company should have advised this work to be done and/or be part of the parapet job, as lead flaching covers the soakers.
hope this makes sense, do I pay more to send them back up on roof or am I being taken for a ride.
