I've just been checking my BT account on-line and we are on the bog std unlimited [£10.50] w/e plan.
I was about to change this to unlimited evening and w/e [£10.50] plan, as the only drawback seems to be tie in to 12 month contract.
However, OH thinks there must be a some other catch to it. Other than the tie-in, is there?
Silly q: if it's so straightforward, why don't BT lobby to switch me over?
Haven't even got to the broadband options yet  .

Thanks Lee. Yes, that's where it gets a bit confusing. There's a little fig 2 by the cost, which is explained further down and the £10.50 does seem to be reliant on a 12 monthly contract tie in.

Thats correct if you agree to sign up to a further 12months then yes you will get it at £10.50/month otherwise you end up paying the extra0
-
it also means you are locked into a rolling 12 month contract, they will inform you just before the renewal date and you can elect at that stage to sign for another 12months or not.sanfly0

I have to say I was impressed enough with BT's offer to upgrade people to their Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan for no extra charge provided they were willing to agree to a 'renewable' 12 month contract that I wrote an adaption to my '6 steps' for those not wishing to sign up for a CPS calls provider but who were willing to take up BT's offer.I was about to change this to unlimited evening and w/e [£10.50] plan, as the only drawback seems to be tie in to 12 month contract.

Silly q: if it's so straightforward, why don't BT lobby to switch me over?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
