yes, I know how you feel KC, I get fed up with the nitty gritty too - one reason why I am trying to do the "megablast" version........although the "megaenergy" has let me down this weekend!

Hypno - listen to your body and give yourself a break in every sense of the word... I wish I had your energy/commitment to getting rid of debt - and I wish I'd got it a while ago... We are finally paying off debt but I'm worried we've left it a bit late - my job is insecure and my OH would quite like to take a job in a new career at the other end of the country - I don't want to stop him but don't know if I'm ready to uproot us all either and debt wise it isn't great timing...

I know I am my own worst enemy Savingholmes.........and I HAVE just had a bar of chocolate, so can cross something else off my list! But I want even more to get rid of as much debt as possible now, really, because of the state of the economy.

I work as a stockbroker, so if we are in this recession for a long time, then jobs in the city will be cut, and as I was "last in" at this firm, I would expect to be "first out" should the worst happen. I have no reason to think that this is imminent, but I remember job losses in the city about 5 or 6 years ago and it was rather a big cull.

OH works for a charity, and of course when times get tough, charities find it even harder to raise money, so I cannot believe that his job is safe, especially as they only created this post recently so it will be up for review at some point soon. He works 3 jobs now, just to get by - if any one of them goes, it makes it much harder for us.

So I think that the less debt we have, the more likely we can survive if prices go up/the student leaves/they don't do the student programme next year/one of us loses our job etc.

Also, the optomistic "driven" side of me says, that if I get rid of the debt quickly, I can buy my dream house which will have been previously owned by a cocky banker/stockbroker/high court judge/surgeon who has not been so focused in these uncertain times, and which is subject to reposession because said banker/stockbroker/high court judge/surgeon did not find MSE until it was too late, and I can pick up a bargain............:D

I think there is one bar of chocolate left..............

As people in debt, we *are* more vulnerable, there's no doubt about it... but every little bit we save up or pay off makes us that bit stronger.

Massive hugs and cheers for DSs school. You must be so proud.

The reiki sounds good. I've not had a session for a bit. Mind you, I was on an indian head refresher course today and it was a case of do a treatment then receive one. Oh my goodness......I am so chilled and an another day tomorrow. I'll be comatose by tomorrow night.

Hope the de-cluttering goes well tomorrow xx

I teach IHM, mudbath, so do plenty of the "giving" but never manage to be on the receiving end because I then have to walk round correcting bad habits etc. I was really pleased to receive a reiki treatment, even if it was a quick zap - I could quite do with something once a week, but we are all so busy it is difficult to arrange "swaps".

I manage two swaps a month with another therapist but today's course was soooo good! One of the best i've been on in a while. It feels like it's about midnight!!! I didn't realise you taught therapies too....no end to your talents! xx
