walshy, fingers crossed for good news for you today! Shaun good luck with the council.....

Today is Friday :j and it is payday :j :j and I have checked the bank and the money is in, so no worrying over the weekend!

Because of DS extra ski training that I have had to fork out for this month, there will be nothing left from my wages for overpayment, so sadly the signature will not be coming down at all, but that is just one of those things.

OH has been working a lot of unpaid stuff recently so won't get such a good paypacket in December for his second job, because he has been doing so much extra (unpaid) work for his main job that he hasn't been able to do the paid shifts he needs in the second job - bah!

anyway, that means that the shortfall will be harder to cover this month, so when my teaching pay comes in etc that will probably have to cover that rather than make overpayments - still, I will be below £40k by the end of the year so will be starting the new year in my 30s.....

BUT that does mean I need to get tough with myself - in November I have spent rather more than necessary - booking concert tickets, booking rooms for the travelodge for when I go and do the marathon, and buying my running garmin (although I got some birthday money towards it, I didn't get enough to cover all of it so had to pay a fair bit myself - but it is worth it!).....SO, although I do not regret making any of those purchases, I cannot afford to carry on in the same way, so even though we have Christmas coming up, I am going to make a real effort to spend the minimum only between now and the end of the year so that I can go into 2009 in full force and without worrying about shortfalls etc.....

    **hypno gathers breath**

    Plan for today:
    • take lunch into work
    • spend no money except for milk needed
    • work
    • karate
    • go for a run, whatever the weather.....
    • plan lesson for teaching tomorrow (leave things til the last minute? Moi?!)

Am feeling far too idle to go back a page and check....think it was Surfbabe who commented about how some obscure places suddenly had reviews appearing. Personally I think some people are just doing picking a place/business and doing a review, they've probably driven past once ;)

I did a review on a local kebab house (that I use :D ) it had already been done, by someone who looks as they used to live in my town. Anyway, this shop changed its name about 2-3 years ago, so I mentioned this...I now see that the original reviewer has amended their review.
    Hmmmm, points make prizes.

Well Hypno, I'm worn out just by reading your plans for today.

I'm off on the school run, then calling in at my main job and then back to work at my second job...oh and then I'm at the main job this evening for about 3 hours. Think I need a sit down.

    Have fun all out there.

Morning all - well its a non uniform day at school today so for the second time this week I don;t have to go looking Office Smart !!! Have to work all day as Office manager has a funeral to go to. Might actaully catch up on some of those obscure jobs that seem to be put on the back burner!

Am hoping that DD WILL finish her Uni application today - she is driving me nuts as by this time two years OK DS had already heard from 2 and had interviews lined up for the others. DD's has still not been submitted.

Hypno don;t beat yourself up about no overpayments - mine will be the same because of having had so much time off teaching - if I don;t work i don;t get paid. Your total has come down so much this year.

Anyway hope you have a good day - I might even do some more Qype reviews.

First client due in at 9, so no chance of an easy Friday

Anyway, have just done some preliminary number bashing, and because of the teaching money coming in, we SHOULD be able to balance the books until the end of the year :D

Obviously, it is down to us to be very careful with the shopping budgets, but with most people already sorted for Christmas presents that we bought during the year in the sales etc, and we are away for Christmas day itself, we shouldn't have too much "extra" to buy.

Car tax is due at the end of this month, but we will just put 6 months on that, rather than the full year we had hoped for, but that is ok.

So - feeling positive today :T

(except for the crappy weather which is going to test my determination to run later this evening!!!!)

Hypno, thats good news on the budget. I'm amazed how much there is to read! Unusually for me, I switched my laptop off at 4pm to work, and didn't switch on again till this morning (been at the trading till now, more or less:j ) no wonder people keep commenting on how fast your thread goes :rotfl:

Anyway, timing as above means I haven't done any qype yesterday, and now I probably won't be able to till ... don't know, I'm out a lot on Saturday too. Will try for Saturday morning a bit, I'll check out the business links that you and Panda have then.

Have a good day - hope you're warm enough during that run.
