Hope things look up Shaun, can't he finish the last 6 months of school then do higher education!? Sounds like a whole lot of fun over in Ireland!

i've had my briefing over this interview tomorrow, feel very good! It's in one of BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG shiny buildings in the city, and I'm exactly shallow when it comes to this sorta thing, but you know... Nice working environment, nice work! :D

I'm shocked because I worked for AIB and BOI and they both said here that they are amazing and have strict lending policies so only good debt get's taken on! I now know this to be a lie...

18 years old eh... Well she'll just have to keep him and you can take him off her hands on the holidays! :T

Who knows what on earth is going on with banks and the economy in general.....I just thank my lucky stars that I found DFW and MSE when I did, otherwise I would be trying to tackle such uncertainty with the best part of 100k in unsecured debt........

As it is, I think that most of us here are actually quite well placed to tackle the recession - we are quite used to making ends meet out of impossible situations, and finding freebies and loopholes is a way of life now.

What concerns me is the number of people coming on MSE who have got caught up in payday loan traps - where their whole monthly income goes to pay off payday loans and then they have no choice but to take them out again. This is a trend that has certainly increased over the last few months and one that I had not noticed previously. I just hope that those people stick around MSE and find that there is a way through this.

Blimey, got all serious for a moment.....now back to jammie dodgers and ninjas....

good luck for the shiny building interview tomorrow walshy :D

I have just been reading some of the posts and I agree about the Payday loans. I hadn't even heard of them until recently following the Quidco thing but now we are getting posts very regularly.

I must admit I was sorely tempted a couple of months back but so glad I didn't as you really do have to be 100% committed to having it paid back the very next month.

i think you are spot on with your last post especially

they were talking on newstalk today and basically said the government were going to borrow 160bill?? next year which is up 60bill to cover the bank and that leaves nothing to cover the loss of tax revenues,so will need 50/80b extra, so put up taxes and srew us all again,
also all this help to the banks is going to the debts and no help to the private investers who are getting no pay outs and the loss on their shares(lots of small people in banks through their pension and sick schemes)
i think therse a lot worse to come in the new year!!!!

neither the banks or governments are telling the truth
    AM I SUPPRISED??
walshboy good luck with the interview
just think of the views (on the bend on the themes??)

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
