Hi,
Can anybody help me and tell me what benefits that I can claim. I have being made redundant and my husband is still working. Can I claim anything - does my husband need to earn a certain amount to qualify ??? Also, what is the criteria when working 18 hrs, can you claim working tax credits ??
Sorry for all the questions, i just that I am lost and not sure if i am entitled to anything !!!! Have visions of being poor.....forgot to say I have 2 children aged 12....
Thanks for any advice....

Not able to help too much but I'm positive you'll be entitled to working tax credits unless your husband earns a really HUGE salary. Try not to panic because I'm sure there's loads of help available. I'm sure you'll get plenty of positive help from your post. Good luck & try not worry too much.0

I am in the same situation at the moment. 11 years service at a company and leaving work this coming friday.
I have called jobcentreplus and they were very helpful, so once I leave I will be calling them up and go on jobseekers allowance. This has many benfits including council tax reduction, NHS treatment and help with rent, but is all dependant on the infomation supplied.
I am looking for work, but a bit of redundancy pay can keep me going for a bit.
More info here.
