BT and SBT on one card or keep seperate?

Options
Hi all

Im new to stoozing but having just signed up for an offset mortgage which starts at the end of October, I'd like to help that along with a bit of stoozing cash if we can.

We currently have a card that comes to the end of it's 0% period at the end of October with around £2.5k on it, which is our only outstanding debt apart from the mortgage obviously. We have the money to pay the card off in full right now, but I was wondering what the best way of maximising our stooze cash would be, seeing as we in effect already have £2.5k of stooze cash sitting in our bank?

Do we pay off the existing card with the cash we have, then start a clean slate with say a Virgin card doing an SBT, do we transfer the Capital One balance onto an SBT card then transfer out the remaining balance via SBT (is this possible?), or would we be better to transfer that £2.5k onto an alternative 0% card without SBT facility, then applying for an SBT card as well, then stoozing the entire balance from that too?

The third option seems to give the biggest potential stooze pot assuming the SBT card gives you the same amount of credit in both situations, but if our credit limit is likely to be dropped by whatever is on the other card anyway, we might as well just put it all on one card for now?

We will get round to applying for an Egg Money card in the near future so we can muel stooze, but obviously we don't want to over-do the credit card applications especially as the remortgage is yet to complete, so I'm looking for the option that means least card applications with optimum stooze pot if possible.

Any advice appreciated :)

Hiya and welcome to stoozing forum.

First and foremost which card is it that runs out it's 0% by the end of October? If you said that you want to maximise your stooze pot IMO your best option is to BT from the few remaning 0% BT cards with no fees which currently only 2 remaining (ulster bank gold card and Abbey zero card).

You may not have enough time now as you should give at least 6-8 weeks for new application if you want to do a BT. You may have a greater chance to apply for the ulster card (subject to minimum salary of £20k) as it will give you an instant approval usually £3000. It may not be too late if you act now.;) . Hope this helps and good luck.

The current balance is on a Capital One card, I assume they're unlikely to offer any extension incentive to stay with them?

Ulster wouldnt be a problem ref salary, so will look into that one ASAP. I did think perhaps I should have looked into it a bit earlier, but had mortgage etc to sort out so this one has been on the back burner.

Ive also got a Tesco Finest and Lloyds Trustcard with zero balances on them, dont suppose there's any deals going for existing customers on those that Ive not spotted?

    thanks for the info.
