My Grandad has a jar of honey that is 20-something years old in his cupboard (or at least he did have last time I looked). He digs it out every now and then when he a has a cold or sore throat! He's 86 so can't do that much harm.
You can use honey to sweeten any drinks you would use sugar in. I've used it in place of syrup when making biscuits before now.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
It's lovely just as it comes, on hot buttered toast or crumpets... delish.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
Thanks everyone
I love the sound of honey fudge....and ice cream....oh!, and the cinder toffee....
I'm all excited about my find now!
Jojo The Tightfisted, if I happen to see my house brownie then I will offer some honey to him, I promise! Hmmm, maybe I could make a Pooh Bear trap?0 -

It is about 4 months out of date and hasn't set or got sugar crystals - it looks and smells fine. Does anyone know if it is ok to use it?
If so, my next question is......
........does anyone have any ideas how to use up 6 big jars of honey?
tHE HONEY SHOULD BE FINE ,,but if you really want to use it up ..as htere will be a shortage this winter.. why not make mead,, its gorgeous
Personally I would just have it on toast

Hi there OM  I'd bake with it - it's delicious in biscuits
We have an older thread on what to do with honey; I'll add this to that one so that all ideas are together.

Ooooo, PenPen, I wish you hadn't joined them together as I had to read the whole thread (too nosey for my own good) and saw Squeekys reply that it was bee sick!
Bee sick! _pale_
Gone right off honey fudge now!0 -

Sounds wasteful, but if you have any foxes near you, they actually enjoy slices of bread and honey. We occasionally put a slice out for a limping little fox which visits our garden regularly and she loves it. But with British honey threatened to be exhausted and disappearing from the market by Christmas because of lack of bees you might want to hold onto it. It may be worth a fortune.0

Well, if so, then that is exactly what I planned all along!! I didn't really lose it all down the back of a dark, cluttered cupboard, I invested in it and placed it in a secure place!!:D
Gosh, I am just so financially savvy0
