  • Evening ladies! Am chilling out watching tv having cleared the mountain of much ironing!!! AND managed to do a bit of flying too.
Caught up with you lot - congrats to Pigpen, hugs to those who need them and am ahead of myself 'cos I picked up a new coat today for £25 from Mr T to replace the manky one that I cleared out in the summer! Now I can tell DH that it was on my list so I HAD to do it! DH is a little concerned about the frequency of list checking to find out what I should be doing! Mind you - he came home from work yesterday and asked me what room we should be doing that night! Anyway- I'm off to put the ironing away and go to bed! See you tomorrow!
  • Flylady Meet Sunday 26th October 2008 Softplay near Meadowhall Sheffield (exact details to be confirmed)

    AnW'sMum + Miss A (8) and Mr W (5)
Valli + DD (12) would like to declare an interest BUT this is dependant on DS's football (Sunday afternoon league and/or whether Grandma would step in and do the 'cheering on' honours.) At the moment am unable to find out whether a game is scheduled for this date...
Michelle, DH, and Charlie (2), Sam (5 months) - we are definites. Can't believe i just got DH to say he would come too, and he will watch Charlie play so i can natter in peace!!!! Yay!!!! I've assured him that none of you are weird (or at least not any weirder than i am, which must have been some reassurance :rotfl: )

COPY, PASTE AND ADD TO THIS POST NOW PLEASE...

Flying today - ummm, i wrote Charlie's party invites, did some bank reconciling, took the boys to the Rhyme time at the library and claimed a free book for each of them and a bucket of veg they took for the kids to play with which they were just going to bin, which is now in my SC about to become tomorrow's soup for lunch. I have bathed both boys, and spent some time with our nextdoor neighbour when she popped round for a cuppa. I also bought a wedding pressie for DH's friend, and had to clean up after charlie when he grabbed a spray bottle from under the sink and started having a merry old time.

I think i have been a bit like orkney star and want to put the boys first as i am spending far too much time on here, and also letting charlie get away with doing his own things - which is resulting in incidents like with the spray, plus he is getting a bit too much of a TV slob. He turns it on himself, and it stays on all day which is no good. that's why i made the effort to go out for a bit today.

Hugs to all you poorlies anyway, think i am going to log off for the night and go to bed, as i have had 2 very early starts and my head is suffering a bit for it.

Night x, and morning to denise :D
  • Hello Fly ladies. May I join you please? I'm suffering from Can't Have Visitors Syndrome and need to get my house in order.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D
  • Hi all, sorry not been on all week, but have been thinking about you all (should I worry about that? )

Been working on a showhome all week, and finished today, so at least thats done now thank goodness, looked lovely when we'd done - St Albans house prices are soooo expensive tho! couldn't believe how much it was up for when mine is bigger and a fraction of the price, still, I just stage it, not pay for it so all good, plus I get to go shopping with other peoples money :j :j :j

Anyway, day off tomorrow so will be up early and bathroom first, as plumber is coming in again (careful, I'm a married woman...) this time the cold tap not working, he's just repaired the hot tap last week - then on with the rest of the house as it's disgusting - I've only been working for 4 days - you'd think they could keep it tidy for that short time...

So, lots of HHC's for me tomorrow - that means I will have to keep popping on to check doesn't it (no, not just wasting time... as if I would!)

Hope everyone well, not been able to keep up with whats happening - so hugs to those who need, congrats to those who've done well and get well soon to those who are not well - hope that covers you all, sorry if I've missed someone...

ChristmasShopper - welcome. This thread will change your life :D . As you've come in at the end of the week, don't try to catch up, as everything will come round again (with variations, as Pigpen likes to keep us on our toes).

You don't have to iron your dusters and have colour-coded pegs, but if you do, Valli & Tag will be keen to enrol you in their laundry fetish support group ;)

It's amazing how quickly things will sort themselves out if you tick a few things off each time, and as you make progress it gets easier, as the starting point is better every week. I can now have visitors... as long as they don't go into my study!

Polka - have we managed to completely reprogramme you?! You're becoming scarily efficient (and as for getting your DS joining in... it's worrying!). I won't be able to do the 26th either, so I'll keep you company. Or we could even have a south-east get together at the same time if anyone else is interested (and if I've sorted out my baking stuff by then :o , I can hand it over to you... deadlines are good for me!)

It was like a full page ad...If you are a British Gas customer... and there was a coupon to fill in and post...it did say, if I remember correctly, that the number available was limited...so I didn't think I'd get one!

I have to admit I didn't know about the free standby savers (I assume it was a token thingy), but BG do now have an energy saving gadgets site:

    http://www.britishgasproducts.co.uk/

as usual, it's worth shopping around if you find something you're interested in.

The shipping costs don't come up until you go to the checkout, so I'll try to remember to dig out the email with the shipping costs on it tomorrow if that would help.

Pigpen - the point about the fires/boilers is well timed! Everyone is starting to put their heating on at the moment, so demand on engineers goes up and waiting times increase  . Even if you are planning on keeping it switched off for a few more weeks, make sure you turn it on for a few hours to check that it is working OK, and while you're at it, check the radiators for cold at the top (need bleeding) or cold at the bottom (sludge, needs draining, cleaning and anti-corrosive adding - or a powerflush if you have the cash!).
Remembering what has happened to the boiler in Vallland despite it's check up in July (and said in a light hearted vein)so don't criticise me ...

    Shuttup about boilers...

I don't use it... my oldest bag that I use is Italian and over 20 years old
