Does rice do this to you too, and how to avoid it?

Not sure if OS is the right place for this, so apologies to the BGs...
I've had a very simple but tasty wholegrain rice dish for lunch, and loved every bit of it. I would have rice more often, but after a couple of hours of eating it I start feeling really sharp hunger pangs. I mean real HUNGER, and only rice does that to me.
Does anyone here have the same problem and, more to the point, is it possible to overcome it, say by mixing it with some other foods?
Help and comfort appreciated...:A

Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Ohhhh all this chocolate advice....
What a good idea I had to start this thread...:j
Candy, no fruit has any adverse effect on me at all, and neither do eggs. It's just rice - I know it's all to do with the particular type of carbohydrate it contains, but I guess it depends what I eat it with.
And oh yeah, I'm having some choccy right nowBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
You might want to try to add a taste more protein to your meal Q. I find rice can make me hungry later too... although a tasty veggie curry with it helps *drools*The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0
