Meter Cupboard Key

Anyone know where I can get a meter cupboard key from, any major retailers that sell them, I've tried B&Q they don't sell them :confused:

  • Powergen sent me one whan I moved house. Ring up your electricity supplier and ask them.
  • Hiya, if you call your gas/electricity supplier they'll send you one out for free... or they should do anyway
  • i found botle nose pliers did a great job till i got my new key from the supplier :)

    Yes ask your supplier I did this year and got one. I did use some long nose pliers until it came though

    I contacted the supplier, (N power I think) they said they don’t issue them anymore and to contact my local council, which I did, and they said they don’t do them.

    It not for me, it’s for an 83 year old lady I look after, she’s not had her meter read since the year dot.

    I got mine from an old fashioned hardware/ironmonger type store. There seems to be usually one in most towns. They were about £1.

    failing that ebay have some.

    If the neighbour's have the same cupboards, maybe one of them will lend you their key so that you can read the meter.

    I'm sure that a work mate of mine bought one from B&Q not so long ago.
