I'm never going to be David Bailey but I'd love to get the most from my new compact camera. Does anyone know any good, one day photography courses I could make a start with? Preferably searchable by county.
Thanks

my advice would be try your local community college if they do short evening courses in photography. They might be pitched as Photoshop courses."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Thanks, I can't do evenings but as I'm on my own most weekends I was hoping for a one day/weekend one off course.
I've missed my local colleges course now anyway - the first one is tomorrow night.0 -
Your local college will welcome you and let you enrole late if you want. I've really enjoyed a year of AS photography.0

Search for a local photo walk. Could tell you more but where are you Heaven / Hell or Devon??0

LOL, Heaven is in Worcestershire0

Thanks - the malvern one would be good, but they're just collecting photos, not teaching.
The go digital one has been suggested by a friend, but they're all so far away - Derbyshire, East midlands & cambs.0 -

we couldnt find one in our area (nottingham) that was convenient, so we started our own at work. we've been going for a year now and i've improved immensely over that time. we started out with 10 people who were interested and at various skill levels, we now have over 30 members with regular challenges, meetings and talks by guests who know a lot more about it than most of us.
why not send an email round your workplace, see if anyone else is up for starting a club? one of the best things about getting a bunch of people together is just being able to talk to them about things. its amazing how much you can pick up in a short period of time...0
