  • Actually I think he's bloody brilliant!

He has a way of cutting through the BS and telling it like it is. His enthusiasm and writing style is the best in the business. If you can, buy his "I know you've got soul". It's all about machinery with that indefinable something, everything from Concorde to the AK47. Astoundingly well written, informative, enjoyable, and gets to the nub.

Then Youtube Top Gear circa 1990 to get a feel for how he's absolutely transformed the program.

Check out Motorworld too, and Extreme Machines (no doubt also on Youtube).

A very very clever man indeed and wholly deserving of his success.

(I guess we're going to have to beg to differ again! :rotfl: )

Seriously though, whatever you think of the man, get "I know you've got soul", it really is utterly fascinating and very enjoyable.

  • Here you go, £2-66. You'll thank me I promise.

A Ferrari F40 has it, a Lexus hasn't. Concorde's got it, but not an Airbus. And while Titanic had it in spades, the Queen Mary 2 must have been in the wrong queue. Soul. Some machines matter to us while others are, well, just machines. In his own inimitable way, Jeremy Clarkson tells the gripping stories of the planes, trains and automobiles that inspire us; and of the geniuses and visionaries that built them.

I think Clarkson is a prize c0ck but everyone's entitled to their opinion. Except horsehatman of course.
