shower can anyone recommend one suitable not too expensive please

  • Look at Screwfit's site for a cheap shower. BUT what will cost the money is getting the power and water to it. Any electrical work will need to be done by an approved electrician or, at least approved afterwards by the local council now.
"Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."
  • Don't buy a Gainsborough (tat in my opinion)

Mira were excellecnt until recently (know 3 customers have MIRA shower failures in past 2 weeks- 2 showers less than 4 months old, one 22 months)

At the moment Triton seem excellent price, value and reliability.

Someone mentioned on one of the forums that Lidl will shortly be doing their thermostatic shower again, check their leaflets, not the website. Amazing price, and apparently it works beautifully from a combi boiler. No electrical connections, just taps into the hot and cold feeds. It was either "shop but don't drop," or "grab it while you can." I'll have another look

Grab it while you can, page 3, (at the moment). Price is £14.99, yes, £14.99.
  • I have a Triton and it seems good but don't buy from PLUMBWORLD. There is NO customer services if anything goes wrong, even if only just bought. They just refer you to the manufacturer to sort it out yourself.

I have a Mira (18 months old) in my ensuite and just bought a Triton for the main bathroom. The Mira developed a noise a few months in, but was fixed for free by them (something to do with water pressure summer/winter).

I got the Triton Spellbind for £150 on ebay. Its all sealed, but I know that if anything goes wrong, its warrantied for 2 years (from installation date). Saved myself £100

My dad fits kitchens and bathrooms, one customer had bought a Triton shower 2 years previous to the installation date, there was something wrong when they fitted it but Triton were fine about it.

If you go above 8.5 KW, you will probably need a 10mm cable, which is a sod to wire round the house because it doesn't bend very well.
