Spybot update

Hi i am running spybot version 1.5.2 at the moment but there is a new update available version1.6.0 but when i install the new update my computer seems to have lost the settings and documents of the other users on my computer,so i have to do a system restore to correct the problem.
Has anybody any ideas why this is happening?

I'm running it on XP service pack3 with no problems
do you uninstall the old version first before downloading the new one ??Ex forum ambassador
