Toshiba TV problems

I have a 42 inch Regza Toshiba Tv which I have had just over a year now, I have noticed a think dark line running vertically down dead centre of the screen has just appeared. Has anyone got an idea what this is? Im hoping this is not a fault after only a year. It seems to disappear at various times but is always just visible.

Afraid I can't help with your problem, but this is the Toshiba helpline number; - 0115 9766958.

However any redress will be against the supplier of the tv, not Toshiba, don't worry if it only has a 1 year warranty, you can claim for repairs against the retailer for up to 6 years after purchase under the Sale of Goods Act, (SoGA) eg; -

No. Depending on circumstances, you might be too late to have all your money back after this time, but the trader will still be liable for any breaches of contract, such as the goods being faulty. In fact, the trader could be liable to compensate you for up to six years.

Just called them and although it is just out of warranty they are sending out someone to repair it free of charge. They were very helpful.
