Outside light with PIR

living close to a lane wanting to use the pir but cant cut down the light it projects outward states 2metres min, which should do this, would this be the Sensitivity switch or the PIR switch? I thought PIR controlled the width it picks movement up on?

sorry didnt make myself clear, the property sits about 6 foot back from a lane and picks up people walking by, i wanted to cut down the distance it picks up on, hence distance not width of beam which goes across drive ok. We can project the beam outwards from 2-6 metres.
will try the tip suggested.

I don't really understand the problem from what you describe. But if you want to restrict the area that the sensor picks up movement from you could use a small piece of insulating tape to mask off the tranclucent part of the sensor that 'looks' at that area.

    Hope this helps?

On some units there are two adjustable pots, may be underneath, one for when it comes on , the light conditions.

the other can adjust distance .
