You could try your local freecycle, if you aren't too worried about colour etc. I've put some perfectly good furniture on our local group.

Try your British Heart Foundation Furniture shop. When you have finished with it, you can donate it back to them and they will come and collect it.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

If you google "furniture project" and the areas around where you live, you will probably find that there is a local organisation that recycles furniture. The sofas have to be in good repair and have all of the relevant safety labelling. Where I live, the furniture project is open to anyone, but there are two prices on the ticket. The higher price (2 x lower price) is for anyone who wants to buy the furniture, the lower price is for those on benefits, though rules will differ.

They are a really good way of recycling furniture (if you don't get something suitable from Freecycle) and a great way to pick up something cheap and functioning. And unlike other places they are likely to have a choice of several so you can find one to meet your needs.
