bidtv...rip off?

I have been shopping on the bidtv/price drop shopping channels on and off for a while,at the moment they have a £1 megadrop event where any item can be £1.You can phone in for £1.50 or web bid which i do more often, however lately, no matter where you bid you are not being guarenteed the item and they are not showing any lists of winning bidders on there website. So to me if you phone in you can pay £1.50 and 'win' but not win the item!, so they're taking the money for nothing and raking it in on the calls. What should I do.
To be honest I was hoping to get a few things as early christmas pressies, but they're not operating fairly. Please beware.

Just finally, thanks to all on this forum as I have saved and found great stuff at great prices, thanks to you all!:T

i have bought loads from different channels...the £1 megadrops are just fluke if there isnt enough competition then they bite the bullet and drop to £1...its like any auction..you bid your best bet,and you are possibly in the top 20(if there are 20 items for sale you have won)and then 20 others bid on top of you so you lose..you have stay on phone and "bid up" again to win...as the channel is called "bid up"

Weird isnt it.. People are so postage sensitive now on eBay and will leave a neg for high postage and yet these channels seem to have a huge pool of customers who are quite happy to pay inflated postage for many of their items.
