Hoping this may help, all my own opinions!
Arrived at Haven Weymouth Bay Fri 19th Sep, allocated a most beautiful caravan, it was one of the superior plus ranges and was superb. It had fridge, freezer, oven, hob, grill, microwave, shower, bath and central heating.
Flat screen tv with dvd player. Standard of cleanliness was good although I did complain about the microwave plate being dirty!
That evening ate on site and was really dissappointed there were 7 of us in my group and 2 of us finished our meals before the others came out, chips were cold and my daughters pizza had been microwaved, not the standard we expected so were a little dissappointed.
Day 2 Saturday
It was so hot on the saturday we spent it all on the beach, watching the boats and building sandcastles, had fab day. Had a stroll through thelittle town which has everything you could need.
The evening meal was taken at The Lodmoor a Brewerys Fare about 2 miles from the site, food is fab and service great. Family friendly and reasonibly priced. we enjoyed it so much we went back another 4 nights!!
Day 3 Sunday
Travelled to Alice s adventure wonderland nr Bournemouth (opposite airport).
Weather again made it,a lot of attractions outside so glad it was nt raining.
A little expensive to get in at £9.95 per adult but we had some tesco clubcard vouchers to use. We filled a full day (6 hrs) there, my daughter who is 2 had a wonderful day, she even went on the stage with Alice in Wonderland. (The shows that were put on were a little strange, and Alice s fake accent does get slightly annoying, but the kids seem to enjoy it.)
We stopped off for a sunday carvery on the way back from Bournemouth, at a place down a lane from weymouth bay site(I cant remember name), but it sits on a little river with ducks, place is lovely unfortunatley the food was nt very good and after waiting an hour I was more than annoyed!!
Day 4 Monday
Had breakfast at Morrisons £4 for a breakfast, superb!
Jumped on the bus (bus stop right outside park) and went to the Sea life centre. It costs £15 odd pound to get in but we used the bogof tickets you can get from woolies, tesco etc. It is quite expensive if you hae to pay full price for both adults but well worth the visit if you have a voucher.
Its not just a sealife centre as I knew it but had seals and turtles, a play pool and sprinklers for the kids, feeding demonstrations and a little funfair. The fair only has 4 rides and only 1 suitable for a toddler but again as the weather was so good it was good just to sit and watch. Back to The Lodmoor for tea (between mon-fri 5 and 7pm you can get 2 meals for £9).
We walked the 3 miles back to the caravan park which is very pleasant a good mile of the walk is on the esplanade the its just a nice bimble to the site.
Day 5 Tuesday
Travelled to Portland Bill in the car for the biggest market around(!!!!!!!). Not this day there was about 14 stalls apparently it was the last market of the season, hopefully those of you who go in summer will see a bigger market.
There is a fabulous viewing point just opposite the market with a nice hotel which has a cafe with magnificent views over Portland. Really nice, although a little expensive.
Tuesday afternoon we spent in the swimming Pool at Weymouth Bay, it is a lovely warm pool and when its hot outside the lifeguard opens the roof a little. BIG complaint though, after getting out of the pool, you have to shower pool side as everyone watches you, then get dressed in a freezing cold changing room, not the best and certainly not the most hygenic, no mats or anything down on the floor, not even an anti slip mat. The lifeguard we had on this day was not very helpful either, could nt see what my problem was when I said I wanted a shower!! ( I do actually like to take my swim suit offf when washing!!)
Day 6 Wednesday
Travelled to Wool by Car to visit the Tank musuem, £11 to get in each which I think is a little expensive. there is a new cafe there but it does not cater for kids, there are sandwiches available but no plain ones suitable for my daughter. Other than that the set up is very impressive, personally I would nt do a return visit due to the lack of toddler things to do.
A quick trip through Poole before heading back to The Lodmoor for tea. (Told you we enjoyed it!)
Day 7 Thursday
Walked into weymouth to the market at the swannery car park, again dissappointed not nearly as big as it is during the summer.
Just under the bridge from the market is a Gurkha all you can eat buffet restaurant, an absolute find. Staff fantastic, food delicious and plenty of choice, chinese, napalese, malyasian, indian and Thai. Think it was about £8 per adult. Well worth it. I liked it even more as I could see the kitchen!!
A stroll along the harbour to Brewers Quay, a little olde worlde shopping centre, not huge but well worth a visit
Caught the bus back to the caravan site had to much shopping!
Friday, checked out, had morrisons breaskfast and travelled to longleat safari park for the day. all in all a fab holiday, it started as a Sun £9.50 holiday and we added 3 extra days on. Loved it, hope this helps someone anu questions just ask.
Sorry its long. x:beer:
