I am told the advisor at The Derbyshire is no longer tied. But I intend to shop around. Are there any you recommend, as I'm located in Nottinghamshire?
As long as they are independent that's fine. Otherwise look at https://www.unbiased.co.uk whcih is the database for IFAs. Can't help with a recommendation for Nottinghamshire.0 -
The Derbyshire is whole of market but that doesnt make them independent in the best sense as they operate a salesforce and the Derbyshire is the employer who sets certain rules that the employees go by. Its a bit of a murky area with regards to what independent really means in the real sense and in a regulatory sense. That is is matter of opinion but I always tell people to avoid salesforces full stop. It doesnt matter if they are tied, multi-tied or whole of market. The salesforce mentality does not go well with proper financial planning and advice.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
