Q for friend - Sure Start

My friends 33 weeks pregnant and has just received the grant of £500 for baby things, she's a bit worried now though and refuses to spend it because her husband has recently (yesterday) become employed and she doesn't know if she's still entitled to it even though she claimed in faith, does anyone know either way? She would rather pay it back now if she isn't entitled than have to pay it back later on, she would hate to think she was robbing off the government. Hope this makes sense.

I am pretty sure (like 99%) as long as she claimed it in good faith she is allowed to keep it, depending on the amount her partner now earns she would have perhaps been entitled to it anyway, they assessed her claim and they have paid it to her so I doubt there will be any further checks. Good luck

It goes on your circumstances on that day - so it's hers and not to worry about it
