does anyone know how long it takes for a CC company to tell the CRA that your CC has been settled.??

    Can take months. Depends on the company.

    Best way to speed it up is register a dispute (free, other than your £2 fee to get your file sent in the first place) with Experian or Equifax. That way the card company has to act within 1 month.

    I've used this method successfully several times to get 'slow' updates sorted.

    Sounds a bit drastic.

    I believe the norm is to update the CRAs once per month. So once you have canceled you card it is just the time up until the next update, which won't be more than a month.

    If registering a dispute takes up to a month then you are achieving nothing other than causing everyone unnecessary work.
