my lads laptop won't let him install, unistall,defrag, system restore....... pulling my hair out !!! a black box quickly flashes up saying ........program too big to fit in memory ............ any help would be gratefully received ................ thanks in anticipation x :rolleyes:

What operating system are you running?

Are there user accounts?

Could be a few things, as reluctant says, need to know what operating system is installed, it could be a user privillage issue. Or it could be that the hard disk drive is full, or it it could be malware.
If you are not using Windows XP Pro we can rule that out. GoTo My Computer, right click on you "Local Disk" or "C:" drive and choose Properties. Look at how much of the disk is being used. Get back to us afterwards for a solution.

Could it be that there is not sufficient RAM installed on the system?

Press the Flying Windows key together with the Pause Break key, to see how much RAM is installed.

1.5GB upwards is usually necessary.

If possible........

Download, install and run CCleaner

Also, download install, update and run Malwarebytes AntiMalware
