in Credit cards
Hi, just looking for some advice on what to do, I am worried that someone may have my credit card details.
The payment for £10.00 is to The General Register Office, part of the Identity and Passport Service, I have not made this transaction.
It does not give details of the credit card company. I have contacted my two credit cards and the transaction is not showing. My husband will have to contact his to see if it on his cards.
I did contact the GRO but received a standard email saying they where busy and should get my order in 14 days!
Should I be doing anything else
I would be grateful for any advice.
Thank-you
ShellyD

It may be a phishing email after your details. Does it have any links to click on it?0

It sounds like an application for a copy of marriage certificate. Just might be someone input the email wrongly. Just my thought....(if they don't show on your credit card account of course)0

Hmm... assuming the links on the original email match the ones above it does look genuine.
Seems someone has ordered a birth, marriage or death certificate and used your card details.0 -

Thanks for the replies, I will wait and see if anything shows on my credit card statements, I am hoping it they have put in the wrong email address.
Thanks again

A correct email from Worldpay on behalf of the GRO should also show (above the details you posted)
Transaction Confirmation
Please retain from your records
Thank you

Then will show value, and Worldpays transaction id so you can contact them with this ref no. (also other details)

This is most likely someone has mistyped their email address. If someone was using your card details illicitly, the last thing they would do is give your email address for the receipts to go to.0
