full time student with over 20 grand worth of savings

I am a full time student with over 20 grand worth of savings. At the moment I live in halls of resistence but soon I will have to move out and start to pay council tax. I live with my partner who works full time and my son. Even with this amount of savings will I still be able to get 25% off our council tax bill since I will be a full time student?

I know about the 6000 and 16000 limits for the council tax benefit but is the 25% discount included in this as its not actual council tax benefit but just a reduction because of who lives there

  • You will get the 25% reduction as students are not counted for council tax purposes, regardless of savings. You need to get a form from your university to confirm your student status.
