I received a letter in the post today from Creation Financial Services Limited drawing my attention to the fact that information they have "suggests that another person may have used my name, a previous address and personal details to impersonate me". They have asked me to complete a declaration upon the receipt of which they will close the account from their records.

However they also say they will put a note on my file that I have been a victim of impersonation which will delay any future credit applications which doesn't sound like good news to me.

I've never heard of this company, and certainly haven't opened an account with them. Can anyone shed any light, or offer any advice? Does this sound genuine?

A quick google search suggests they provide store cards.

I'd check my Credit Files with all 3 Credit Reference Agencies, Equifax, Experian and CallCredit.
