I'm not sure where to put this, but as I'm venting my spleen about an ungrateful person I thought here would be as good as anywhere. It might also help someone....
As I was standing in the local post office this morning there was a man at the counter bemoaning the fact (loudly) that he didn't understand how to read his PIN from the letter he'd been sent. I don't know what sort of card he had, he may have just become a pensioner, he wasn't very old anyway.
Anyway the lady behind the counter wrote it on the letter and the PIN was evidently twinned with card as he stood there.
With that, it was my turn and as i stood waiting beside him whilst the counter assistant did my business I noticed him slip his unsigned card and the letter with his PIN into his coat pocket. In a stage whisper (thinking I was being helpful) I said to him "Don't forget to sign your card will you?"
To which he snarled "When I want your help madam I'll ask for it!"
I hope someone clears him out the rotten old s*d.

S'ppose so.
If I'd been some young whippersnapper who might possibly have been taking the rise it would've been different, but I genuinely don't think you can be too careful these days.
Maybe he was a misogynist (sp?).:wave:0 -

You should have pickpocketed him & cleaned him out yourself. themiserable old git.0 -
I work in a cafe and often people pay by chip and pin, it surprising how many stick their pin number on the card!!!0
-
Well, if he gets his card nicked, it's his own fault. He's on his own, as banks and CC companies won't reimburse you for fraud if you keep the PIN with the card, for obvious reasons (there was someone on the current accounts board told exactly this - she blamed the bank.)
Don't worry, he'll suffer the consequences of his actions. It'll balance out in the end.

Some people are strange. A while back I was standing in front of the crisps in the supermarket, doing sums in my head, and I realised that, with the special offers, it was cheaper to buy six individual packs than a multipack of six.
A man walked up next to me and reached out for a multipack so I said "With the special offers, six individual packets work out cheaper" and he gave me a really scared look, grabbed the multipack and raced away.
I could have understood it if I'd been muttering or something, but I really wasn't!0 -
That's the sort of thing I do lilias, try and help, but folk think you're a loony
