I watch those "life down under" programmes where they take a family to Aus or NZ and get them a job and house, then they go round comparing things. A lot of them realise that houses are cheaper, but they earn less there. And for NZ one family last week found out it rains a lot, and suddenly.0

My ex and my daughter now live in Oz, when my endownments mature in 2012. I will have a 100k saved and then I'm off, should be able to buy a home outright, I'm going to give the "road trains" a try and travel around the outback, leaving this hole behind, can't wait.0

Re Portugal ?
Worked there in many moons ago as ,dare I admit, a timeshare tout.If only I had had the foresight then to buy land/property , I'd be quids in....but hey ho, it was just getting developed back then......returned in mid 90's and more recently last June.....wouldn't believe the place now.Would guess there's work around as is anywhere, whether it's ' quality' work I dunno.
How about an all year round resort like the Canaries ?
Is OZ the B all and end all that people claim it to be ?
Is the grass really much greener on the other side or just a paler shade of
straw colour ?
