jumper position

I have a maxtor h/drive and the jumper is set to CS enabled .As this is the only drive should it be set to MASTER??any advice please??? :confused:

    CS is cable select, meaning that if there was more than one drive aatched it would be up to the cable (or the electronics controlling the cable, I guess) to choose what was the slave and what was the master.

    But since you only have one drive CS would configure it to master anyway. So assuming the drive works with CS, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

    Yes, if it's the only HDD on your PC it should be set as master. If you don't have the manuals to guide you this may help....
