Less than £60 tax rebate

Can anyone tell me why I only got £24.60 tax rebate even though my coding is now 603L.I earn £135 gross and get paid weekly. Is this right?

  • This is an odd one. You probably should query it with someone in your payroll dept. Sorry I can't help.

IF you have a code ending in T, will the £60 tax rebate be given?

Your code will only change (and the rebate be given) if the tax office send a P6 notice to your employer.

Can you advise your gross to date, tax paid to date, and tax code from your payslip and also the payslip for the week before?

gross to last week was 3273.tax paid was 48.50 on the same wage slip that I had the £24.60 rebate.Coding 603L.

The week before was gross 3138.

Do you get any pay included in your gross that tax is not deducted from? I make the tax figure for last week a couple of pounds out.

Asside from this the main cause of your reduced rebate is the tax figure for last week. 3138 less the 543L allowance at week 25 of 2614.90 is a taxable pay of 523.10 which should give a tax to date of 104.60 not 73.10

Was your code on a week one basis when it was 543L?
Have you worked at the same place all this tax year?

That is the correct tax figure on that gross for a code of 603L. Your tax should be £60 less than last month assuming that your gross is the same for both months and that there has been no other adjustments apart from the change from 543L to 603L.
If this is not the case can you advise pay and tax for last three months and the tax code and basis used for each month?
