I was looking at the student bank accounts and they seem to state that you have to be doing your 'first' undergraduate degree. This will be my second; does that mean that I can't open a student bank account...? Does anyone have any experience of this...? Thanks... .

My only experience was of being refused a student account because I was doing a PhD and so they realised I must have been a student before.
Anyway, look at the T and Cs of the various student accounts to see what their rules state. Although, if you were to 'forget' about your earlier studies when applying, I'm not sure that they would know, or care either, come to that.0 -
This didn't come up when I applied for my account. Not sure why. I was a student a few years ago and had a student account with Halifax. I dropped out because I was ill and closed the account.
This year I've gone back to uni so applied for another Halifax student account. No one asked if I'd had a student account before.0 -
I'm doing a second undergrad (after a D.Phil) and had no problem keeping my student account (either during my D.Phil or during this degree). I'm with HSBC, and they even allowed me to get the 5 year YPR that was on offer in 2004 when I started this course. Thumbs up, as it's saved me a small fortune!April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200
