Succesful PCN appeal
Hello
I had my vehicle towed away from a loading bay in April, with a £60 TFL penalty + £200 to get my car back from the tow'ers.. This occured whilst I was collecting goods(not shopping) from a business next to the bay.. the warden waited 3 mins and was loading my car on the back of the truck when I came out.. he would not give it back - just kept repeating that I was parked illegally etc..
I appealed on the grounds that I was checking an order to load into my car, provided photographs of the bay (with 20min sign) a letter from the shop I was visiting and a letter outlining the incident.. I said that I was in the shop not more than 5 mins when the warden started to load the car.
After 6 weeks I called TFL every 10 days to get updates on the appeal and was told that it could take "any amount of time to decide". I wrote back to say this was unbelievable for a large company not to have fixed proccess in place to deal with a major part of thier customer relations.. ie .. allocating and monitoring resource.. anyway they wrote back to apologise for the delay.. stressed that they do have robust systems inplace but faild in this instance,, and that due to the evidence I supplied that the ticket was issued in error and would refund in total.
So I lost a days work whilst my vehicle was taken away (+stress that goes with it), they held on to my £260 for 6 months (on which I lost interest and they would've earned) and they have admitted that the ticket was issued in error due to the evidence I supplied that supports my claim.. Does anyone have any experience of recovering these costs from TFL as they have in real terms cost me a lot more than £260

There was a post here recently from someone who said they had taken TFL to court, obtained a judgement against them, could not find an address to send the bailiffs to, eventually found a PObox address which was traced - then court appointed bailiffs were refused entry from their premises. We recieved no further update from him.
