Three weeks since I made the first post and in each week the economy 7 failed to come on during the Thus/Fri night/morning but comes on as normal all other days/nights. This leaves me  .
That's certainly odd, three weeks would seems to rule out coincidence! Not sure what your RTS has against Thursday nights, but perhaps there's something different about the Thursday signal that it doesn't like.

The engineer will be coming on the 14 December and when it happens again next week I will ring them so they have some idea of the problem and hopefully come prepared to fix it.
I reckon I'd have been on the blower if it had happened again! ;)

There`s not a big lorry or something parked outside your house on a Thursday night blocking your signal is there ?.

The bad news is as well as Thursday this week it also failed to come on Friday night as well.

The good news is this that meant I could ring on Saturday and get it treated as an emergency.

The engineer called and it was a faulty Radio Teleswitch that he replaced. He said it was just coinscidence that it was failing on a Thursday.

Anyway all should be well now, just got to claim the compensation for being deprived of the Economy 7 for 4 nights.

So the winner is - paul_h.
    Regards

For the benefit of other money savers who might face a similar problem just thought I would post the final chapter. Southern Electric asked me to take electric readings over a four day period and inform them so they could work out compensation. I don't know how they worked it out but today I got a letter saying they would credit my account with £41. This seams quite reaonable to me so :xmassign: Southern Electric.
