ive been sorting out all my itunes folder on one external HDD and was copying across another large folders worth of tracks id downloaded. half way through it said not enough room on ACERDATA (D drive on my laptop). I use the external drive H: as my iTunes folder with my songs in though. It appeared to be doing a back up onto D drive as well as my chosen H: drive. As it wouldnt let me copy all across i deleted the
drive folder to make room, big mistake. now if i open itunesvery few tracks play, most saying 'unable to locate, do u want to find them?'
Is there anytihng i can do to restore my itunes tracks? can i restore from my ipod (video)? as it was sync'd last week. worried about plugging it in to computer and auto syncing and replacing a full folder with a load of titles but no actual music
please help im going mad!

Sorry to hear that. No good trying to bolt the door once the horse has gone so to speak but its always worth having at least 2 external indendent backups.
I am pretty sure you cannot retrieve music from the iPod as you see them on your computer. If you have iPod set to manual harddrive mode I think you can get in but the files are not called what you would think they would be and in no discernable order. If you have it on auto sync I think it would erase them.
Have you tried rolling back to restore point? Your computer should create these automatically and hopefully will show your files before they were corrupted.
Good luck.Sometimes you get what you deserve... :cool2:0 -
couldnt restore and there was no restore points? (stupid of me i know)
does itunes store tracks twice? my folder was in H:drive but there seemed to be a duplicate folder in D drive that was the one when delted, lost all my tracks? why would itunes duplicate tracks or track listings?0 -
