One year on Christmas Day I got out my new cocktail shaker and little book of cocktails.
First up...a Moscow Mule....I put in all the ingredients and shook....! la Tom Cruise in cocktail.....unfortunately, I had added the ginger ale too soon and the shaker exploded in my hands and I was left covered in Moscow Mule.
Several years later, this incident still gets mentioned.

Depending on how wee your do is, I'd definitely pick one or two cocktails you really like and just offer those. If you try to do a range you'll end up having to buy loads or random booze and mixers you'll never get rid of.
Might also be useful to have some beers on back-up, boys can be a bit funny about cocktails (the only one my OH will contemplate is scotch+ice, and even that's pushing it!)0 -
Agree with BabyBio, trying to do too many will be a bit like trying to do a different main course for everyone (i.e. expensive and difficult).
I like to go for Margaritas. For a party they look a bit more exotic than rum and coke and, of course, taste great. A milion recipes exist online for frozen/non-frozen but I go for a basic:-
3 parts tequila
2 parts Cointreau
1 part of lime juiceMy eyes! The goggles do nothing!0 -
My absolute favourite cocktail is
1 part brandy
1 part bailey
1 part kahula
1 part dark curacao
3 parts single cream, mix up in a shaker with ice then strain and pour
Trouble is it's very tasty and doesn't taste alcoholic, last time I drunk it I had too many, thought I was fine then stood up only to find my legs were drunk!
Daquiri's are usually very popular, my brother makes them the best but he won't share his recipe (all I know is he uses strawberry jam, sounds odd but it really works!) You could make different fruit daquiri's, strawberry, mango, peach etc depending on what soft fruits you already have. Or you could do do different fruit flavoured margharita's
Champagne cocktails are also go down well
I also agree with Babybio, stick to just a few, be a right muddle to make many different types.
Good luck, I'm sure whatever you decide will be popular0 -
I like a mixture of baileys (or similar) with Amaretto0

does any1 know any cocktails that use lambrini? Any helpould be sooo appreciated as i dont want to serve lambrini by itself since it can look a bit cheap, the trouble being that i am cheap i just dont want to look like it!0

most seem to add a blue drink of some sort either WKD or blue curacao. I think I'd just add a splash of soda, a few drops of food colouring to make it look different, perhaps a sliver of fruit and add a sugar rim to the glass, presentation is everything!0

My fav is "sex on the beach" which is cranberry juice, orange juice, vodka & peach schnapps but if you want to go cheap just try mixing a few things together & see how they taste, that way you can go as expensive or cheap as you want! You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0

Oooohhh... cocktails...
I love Bloody Mary's- vodka, tommy juice, tabasco, worcester sauce and a dash of celery salt. Never with ice as it dilutes it and gives a watery top layer!
White Russian- vodka, kahlua and milk
Raspberry collins (although expensive in winter!)- gin, lemon juice, raspberry puree, little bit of sugar, topped up with soda water. Scrummy!
BTW, ASDA have some good spirits offers on at the moment. I got a 70cl bottle of Beefeater Gin and a 70cl bottle of Absolut vodka for £16- £8 each! They are normally about £11.50-£12 each!! They had some other spirits that I can't remember on the same offer!0 -

I guess you could use lambrini in place of champagne:
Place sugar cube in bottom of champagne glass.
Sprinkle a few drops of angostura bitters on top (bit pricey but lasts ages)
Add a dash of brandy on top (nothing fancy)
Top with [STRIKE]champagne [/STRIKE]lambrini
Looks good and tastes delicious but don't have too many as its falling down juice:rotfl:Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
