I have about £6K that is saved with the Nationwide which is absolutely rubbish, can anyone advise any good savings accounts? or bonds, ISAS?

Hi
If you didn't use you ISA allowance, therefore put it first there - Abbey pay 5.1% and guarenty to be at least 0.5% above BOE.
after that you have Cahoot pay 5.5% guarenty for 12 months.
with Cahoot you may expect long process as there is a huge demand.

I would second this, bunny
But I would also suggest that you put some money - even if it is only £100 - into an ING account, if you don't already have one - because although the Cahoot 5.5% rate is good now, it could become less competitive than ING once the introductory 5.5% period is up.
LeiaI want to be a good saver, but I find it difficult to control my temptation to spend.
I owe £1,247 more than I have in savings.

But Leia, you only have a £1 in your ING account!!! :-/
Bunny, the Nationwide ISA is not too bad if you haven't got your ISA for this year: you can split your £3000 allowance anyway you want between a bond ISA (4.95%), and an instant access ISA (4.65%). You have to give notice to withdraw money from the bond ISA and you can transfer it to the instant access ISA at any time.
There are better ISA rates available, but these may be the easiest for you to setup quickly, being a member of the Nationwide already.0
