Gloworm wanted

Hello folks
This is a long shot that i know but i need an outside cover so a gloworm supersaver 50 as the old one has corroded from a small leak.
Its in a rental property i own and with the 'crunch' im not sure i can afford the £1200 or more to replace it.
Any constructive ideas would be appreciated.

How bad is the corrosion? I would have thought that you could make some sort of repair, if its not too bad, using the same sort of body filler that you would use to repair a bit of rust in a car body. Then rub it down and spray it with a car aerosol. It would be easier than doing a car because you can remove the part that needs work and do on a table or bench. Car bodies can get very warm when left in the sun so there would probably not be a problem with a boiler casing. Certainly worth a try, I would have thought.
