CPI_Module is not working?

Everytime I start my computer up a box appears before the internet page starts up saying "CPI_Module is not working" windows is sorting the problem out, then you have to wait until windows sorts the program out before using the net. Most of the time it's ok, but sometimes windows takes a very long time to sort the problem out and the blue line keeps seaching, so I have to then restart the computer and try again.
Any ideas what could be the problem?
Thank you in advance

Can no one help with this problem?
The other problem I have which may be the same problem is that when I had firefox that used to close too and now i've installed safari, it's happening to that as well.0 -
That certainly doesn't seem to be a common problem, and from what I can see there's too little information in the error message to know what the cause is from that alone.
However, you should be able to take a look in the system logs for a more detailed error message so that you can diagnose it further.
How you do that will depend on what OS you have. For example in Windows XP you can go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer and view the logs from there. Hopefully this will give an indication of what process is generating the error, so that you can re-install that application.0 -
The only info I can find is an obscure reference to the CPI in an IBM manual, and seems to be system software files that deal with the processor in some way (dont ask me how because it was WAYYYYYY over my head). I would go with fwor's advice in the first instance."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Microsoft changed where everything is in Vista, just to make it fun for people who know where things are in XP.
