£60 tax rebate question

I thought i would be due the £60 tax rebate, but checked pay and i haven't got any extra. I started working for the company last June 2007, but worked full time before that temping. Is there any reason why i didn't receive mine? i def don't earn over 40K, i wish i did!

 bit gutted now as i was expecting to get it this month!

You should have got it then, unless your company have you on a week 1 / month 1 basis. Then you will only get something like £10 refund per month until your are taken off non-cumulative.

Are you sure you haven't got it? It's easy to see if your salary is exactly the same every month, as your net pay will have increased by £60, however it's a little more tricky if you earn various amounts each month.
  • Definately not. My tax and NI is the same as it is every month, just checked. No difference what so ever. I'm a full time employee, so not sure why i didn't get it, yet my tax code has changed.

Should i speak to my payroll dept? or ring the tax guys direct?

    thanks
  • Firstly I'd ask payroll if it were me. They should be able to explain why you haven't got it.

This link might help explain things a little better regarding how is/isn't entitled to the refund.

Can you give your figures for this pay month and the previous, gross tax and tax code? Don't forget that the 40K is for the year at this point you would only need just over 20K to be in the 40% band.

Yes the 603L is showing on this months pay cheque, last month it was 543L. So how can my tax code change yet nothing extra in my pay? not a penny extra. It slightly different due to a ovetime, but thats not much, and its def not different because of me getting the £60, it is the extra money i got from overtime.

My figures from this month and last as per chrisbur's request:

    28/08/2008 payment: 543L tax code

    Gross pay - £1171.08

    26/09/2008 payment - tax code 603L

    Gross pay - £1258.83

There is no extra in the pay, apart from the extra 7 hours i did this month compared to last.

    Soo baffled.
